I’m a Celebrity wins Best Reality TV Show for third year running at the Digital Spy Reader Awards 2018.
It feels like nothing can stop I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! – the ITV show sauntered to victory yet again, taking the Best Reality TV Show crown at the Digital Spy Reader Awards for the third year in a row.
The fate of the series looked uncertain earlier this year following co-host Ant McPartlin’s departure for personal reasons, but This Morning’s Holly Willoughby stepped up, standing in for Dec’s TV other half, and the show went on – and it’s a good thing it did because it’s only gone and bagged itself one of the biggest TV accolades of the bunch (if we do say so ourselves). I’m a Celebrity… saw off the competition to win the Best Reality TV Show for the third year running, well and truly cementing its status as your favourite.
And, in a surprise result, tangos, Craig Revel Horwood’s acid-tongued takedowns and that controversial kiss weren’t enough to take second place, as Strictly Come Dancing has been edged into third place by RuPaul and friends. Notably, The X Factor ranked tenth, falling behind the likes of Queer Eye and The Circle – a strong indicator that the show is continuing to fall out of favour. (The same could also be said for Made in Chelsea and The Only Way is Essex.)
It was a walk in the park for This Morning, who obliterated their fellow daytime TV contenders, swiping the top prize with more than 50% of the overall vote – it doesn’t get more decisive than that. BBC Breakfast took second place, with its early morning rival Good Morning Britain coming in fifth place.
