Dancing On Ice 2019: James Jordan’s early exit revealed after catastrophic hip injury?
DANCING ON ICE 2019 is back on television screens this weekend with week six of the competition. However, for bookmakers favourite James Jordan it seems he could be exiting sooner than originally thought.
Dancing On Ice 2019 saw James Jordan top the leaderboard for the second time running last weekend. His stellar ballet performance scored him a staggering 36.5 combined points from the judges. But it seems, the former Strictly Come Dancing professional could score considerably lower this week following an injury.
The reality star who has been tipped by bookmakers to win the series spoke out about his injury and how his arthritis hasn’t helped. Writing in his Best magazine column he revealed: “I fell practising a jump the other day and landed on my hip. Given the arthritis there, it wasn’t ideal. It hurt – a lot.”
As for whether or not this will affect his future in the competition, James added: “I’m getting daily physic and trying to man up. I will get there.”
It comes after Westlife bandmate Brian McFadden confirmed his attendance for Sunday following an alternative injury. Speaking out about hurting his shoulder, Brian said: “This is really frustrating for me because for week’s I’ve been nervous about getting here and nervous about just doing my first dress rehearsal in the studio.
“I do it and I love it and I was so happy, so relaxed, ready to go and this stupid shoulder has literally put me right back to the start again. But now I’m nervous and I don’t know what’s gonna happen.” A show source revealed: “Brian has been throwing himself into training but is finding it really tough as his back is giving him issues.
“He had been to see the show’s physio, but it’s looking increasingly unlikely that he will have to pull out of the show.”
The insider added to The Sun: “Obviously he’s determined to keep trying but he knows there’s only so much he can do without inflicting a serious injury and causing long-term damage.”
A spokesperson for Dancing On Ice told Express.co.uk: “Brian has a bad back and is currently being monitored by our show physio.” It has been suggested he will be taking part in Sunday’s show.
Meanwhile, bookmakers are looking to who could leave the competition this weekend, and it seems Gemma Collins is in the firing line. Going into week six, Ryan Sidebottom has scored a total of 56.5 for the three performances he has given, whereas Gemma had accumulated 59 points after completing four routines.
As the two contestants with the lowest combined scores, bookmakers OddsMonkey have revealed both Ryan and Gemma are in danger this weekend with fans failing to get behind the pair. Ryan’s chances of leaving this Sunday are at 1/2 with Gemma following shortly behind at 4/1.
After being bottom of the leaderboard last week, she was saved by her dedicated fans, but will they fail to vote this weekend?
