Caroline Flack gives a peek behind the scenes of the Love Island Christmas special as Megan and Wes lead the excited cast heading to TV reunion.
Caroline Flack has given Love Island fans a sneak peek of the first ever Christmas special.
The show host, 39, delighted viewers by offering a glimpse behind the scenes, as finalists Megan Barton Hanson, 24, and Wes Nelson, 20, led the excited cast members making their way to the TV reunion.
Sharing a video from his car journey with Megan to his 1.6 million Instagram followers, Wes revealed the couple – one of only four from the series still together were on the way to filming and will be on social media lockdown. Wes said: ‘Filming the Christmas reunion. It’s about to go down.’ In a separate post, the reality star said he was ‘gonna be quiet for a couple of days’.
Caroline also teased the upcoming special to fans, sharing a series of clips to get her followers excited for the reunion and admitted it felt odd to film the sun-kissed series in the middle of winter. The Love Island presenter teased the location of the reunion by posing outside a stately home, wearing an embellished skirt and one-shoulder top. She also posted on Instagram wrapped up in a parka jacket, the TV presenter shared a snap of herself and wrote: ‘Off to film a bit of Christmas Love Island today… feels weird in the winter.’ The host later shared a glimpse at her reunion script and the Love Island Christmas Reunion cue cards.
The location for the special has been kept top secret but Caroline looked to be in luxurious surroundings as she relaxed in a spa and showed fans a glimpse of the huge pool. Love Island alumni Georgia Steele, 20, also told of her excitement ahead of the special. She shared a snap on the way to filming, writing that she had a ‘two hour drive’ ahead of her. Sharing a clip of herself chowing down on a meal, the former dance student told of her excitement about being reunited with her former cast mates, including ex-boyfriend Sam Bird, 25.
Georgia said: ‘So I’m here eating my last supper before I go back to see everyone from Love Island. So excited.’ Paul Knops, 31, who was linked with Laura Anderson, 29, on the series, also announced he was on his way to the reunion and would be going off social media.
He wrote: ‘Destination unknown @LoveIsland. I shall be offline for a couple of days too.’ Only four couples from the show remain united, with a series of splits blighting the series’ stars in the weeks and months following the final.
Winners Jack Fincham, 26, and Dani Dyer, 22, are still together and filming their own reality show, while Adam Collard, 23, and Zara McDermott, 20, have recently moved into their first flat. Along with Megan and Wes, Kazimir Crossley, 23, and Josh Denzel, 26, are also still loved-up.
Most of the couples who got together in the Mallorca villa have gone their separate ways since the cameras turned off. Georgia and Sam Bird confirmed their split on Instagram in October, with Sam admitted he was ‘devastated’ by the break-up while Georgia insisted she will ‘always care about him’.
Paul and Laura broke the string of success’ for the finalists’ relationships as they called it quits shortly after the series ended. Paul told The Sun: We weren’t compatible for each other. I knew I had to be 100 per cent sure about it because you know – the next person you’re with could potentially be you’re wife; you don’t want to be unsure about it.’
Frankie Foster, 22, and Samira Mighty, 22, also didn’t last outside the villa, despite Samira leaving when her other half was voted out – they called it quits in August. It also wasn’t meant to be for Charlie Brake, 23, and Ellie Brown, 20, who announced they were splitting on Instagram in October.
