Here’s what Big Brother’s original winner Craig Phillips is doing now.
Big Brother’s original winner Craig Phillips has a whole new gig… as a first-time father, after he welcomed a newborn girl a couple of weeks ago.
Craig, who rose to fame by winning the reality show’s first ever series in 2000, welcomed baby Nelly with wife Laura Sherriff. The couple tied the knot in February last year. Taking to his Instagram page, Craig shared an adorable photo of him holding his baby girl, surrounded by gifts and cards from family and friends.
“Someone’s spoilt! Wow-totally overwhelmed by all of the gorgeous baby gifts that @_mrsdiy and I have been receiving,” wrote Craig.
“Thank you to each and every one of you for spoiling Nelly – she really has no idea how lucky she is right now!” Big Brother’s first winner has been keeping his fans up to date, sharing a number of adorable photos with his baby girl – including a funny picture of him shopping for nappies and a sweet snap of the whole family.
Craig and Laura offer DIY tips and tricks on their YouTube channel Mr and Mrs DIY, and are currently building their dream home together. Channel 5 axed Big Brother last year (although Rylan Clark-Neal is still trying to find a new home for the show), and Craig has previously shared his views about the reality series, saying that it has “run its course”.
“When we did it, nobody knew how big it was going to be, we were just ordinary people and it was all quite innocent,” Craig said at the time.
“Now everything has been engineered, the layout of the house, the tasks, the contestants they select, everything is designed to make people clash.” He added: “It’s been on for 18 years, that’s a long time, and it’s probably run its course.”
